Sourcing Ingredients

Big Country Raw sources all ingredients from human grade, federally inspected processing plants. This means you can be confident that the meat in your pet’s raw meal was subject to the same strict inspection criteria as meat intended for human consumption. This inspection process includes checks for the presence of disease, parasites, microbiological hazards (e.coli, salmonella, listeria, etc) and drug residues including hormones and antibiotics.

Step 2

Transportation to Facility

All raw meat products are transported from the processing plant to Big Country Raw on temperature controlled delivery trucks. From their load docks to our doors, we can guarantee that the meat has remained at a constant cold temperature, either frozen or chilled. Temperature controlled processing is necessary to ensure raw meat does not become contaminated with salmonella, e-coli or listeria.

Step 3

Production of Raw Pet Food

We follow GMP (Good Manufacturing Principles) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) processes from the first step of production through to finished good.

Step 4

Storage and Distribution

Our products are flash frozen at temperatures below – 20 degrees to maximize the nutrients in our fresh prepared raw meals. Our facility is equipped with a Temperature Monitoring System to ensure all products remain at a constant frozen state from the date of production to the day of shipping. Big Country Raw delivery trucks are also temperature controlled, so you can feel confident that your product will arrive frozen at your doorstep.
