Feeding Guide
Add Thrive® Fortify as per label to meet the National Research Council (NRC) Nutrient Requirement for Dogs and Cats. Thrive® Fortify is a blend of essential minerals, vitamins, healthy fats, various greens and digestive enzymes and is formulated specifically to augment Big Country Raw® Pure Formula and Signature Blend recipes.
Add Thrive® Herring Oil (the popular choice) or alternatively Thrive® Hemp Seed Oil (plant-based option) for Omega-3 Fatty Acids. Omega-3 Fatty Acids may improve the shine and luster of the coat, reduce inflammation and aid in the absorption and distribution of essential nutrients.
SAFE RAW FOOD HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Keep food frozen and thaw in refrigerator until ready to use.
- Raw food must be used within 3 days after thawing
- Return unused food back to the refrigerator after serving.
- Serve in stainless steel or ceramic dishes.
- Wash all work surfaces, utensils, serving spoons and hands with hot water & soap after handling raw meat & poultry.

My dog loves Pure Kangaroo. It is a great lean protein. It is one of the more expensive proteins, but it is great for us because our dog has allergies to chicken, and we like to rotate proteins. She goes crazy for this.

I picked this up for my dogs birthday (I am one of those dog moms) and he LOVES it. I love being able to give him a novel protein like Kangaroo and try and rotate it in every once in awhile as a special treat and to give my dog great variety in the foods I am feeding. Definitely recommended for pets with allergies and as it is a leaner meat for any pet that may be a little too fluffy.

Kangaroo is my cats absolute favorite flavor. If we leave it out of rotation for more then a few days he gets mad and wont eat (but he gobbles back kangaroo if we put it out)!! He just love love loves kangaroo!

The pure kangaroo is my guys absolute favourite, he is a 9 month old Portuguese Water Dog, started him on raw at 8 weeks when I brought him home. We have now tried everything and this is one that I can put in his bowl and he will gobble it right up without leaving a drop in the bowl!!!

Our four cats love Kangaroo and will eat nothing else. My 14yr old Main Coon cannot process fat but he does not like the low fat canned cat food or the dry. He has been on Big Country’s Kangaroo for two months and my vet is amazed at how non-greasy his coat is, and he has not vomited once since he started eating Kangaroo. Thank You!!!

So my dog may have hated kangaroo, I had to mix it in small doses in other things to get her to eat it… but the reason I’m leaving a review here is because of how much I LOVE that BCR has something like this available. You won’t find kangaroo anywhere in your grocery stores. It’s amazing that this is available so people can buy something “exotic” for their dog. Plus, I’ve heard nothing but good things about kangaroo meat. Apparently it’s VERY healthy for your dog, and one of the very nutritious meats to feed.

I have a 3 year old Yorkie with skin issues, stinky breath and overall stinky fur. Turns out she has allergies to certain proteins. So after switching her over to kangaroo, mixing in the vegetable blend and pumpkin purée, we have one happy little dog. No stinky breath or fur and the skin lesions are all clearing up. This dog does not enjoy raw, never has. So I always take the entire package of thawed
meat and quickly sear it on high heat in a skillet, flipping it over and removing from heat. That’s when I add the blends, mix it all up and put it into containers to refreeze until needed.

When I want to spoil my dog, I get him this. It’s more expensive, but I find it’s worth it. I don’t even have the time to put his bowl down that it all finished haha. It’s also great for pets with allergies or that need to lose weight (lean meat).

BCR Pure Kangaroo is hands down the best food for a severely allergic dog like ours. Since switching to raw he licks his plate clean as versus giving me “the look” after taking a sniff of his old kibble and only eating because he knows he has to. His allergies were doing so well I got complacent and tried a different brand and it’s like we’re back to square one with the licking and yeast. Yikes!! Can’t wait for this to be back in stock, we’re switching back and never leaving.
