At Big Country Raw, our goal is to use real, fresh ingredients as much as possible! Because of this, we have to account variability in our raw ingredients, including seasonal and supply variation. The value we share take that variability into account, and because of that, we test our ingredients and recipes regularly.
Big Country Raw Dinner Recipes for dogs and puppies provide complete and balanced nutrition for pets, substantiated by an extended AAFCO Feeding Trial. Recipes are formulated to meet the nutrient requirements suggested by The Nutrient Requirement for Dogs by the National Research Council (NRC) and follow the Minimal Requirement (Amount / 1000kcal for growing puppies after weaning and adult dogs). The addition of an Omega-3 Fatty Acid, such as Thrive Herring Oil, Salmon Oil, or Hemp Seed Oil (with the exception of Fish Dinner), is recommended to be added for their beneficial impact on overall health, especially for growing puppies.
We recommend adding a Thrive® Oil to Big Country Raw Dinners.
Fish Dinner doesn’t need fish oil added, but Hemp Seed Oil can be added to cover Omega-6. Fish Dinner should be fed in rotation with other Dinner formulas, up to two days per week (or 30% of the overall diet). With 30% of Fish Dinner in the weekly rotation, there is no need to supplement the diet with fish oil as Fish Dinner will cover the essential Omega-3 fatty acids.

Stinky yet satisfying! Not oily, and well ground up. A favorite for my 2 Doberman.

My boxer dog who is 11 years old is having a heart desease. He also has poultry allergy. I started the fish dinner raw food and he feels way much better than with dry food full of grains and rice. His digestion is better. He has more energy, his fur coat looks shinier.

One of the only meals that is complete from BCR. You don’t need to add anything. The different fish are packed full of omega 3’s and there’s already fruits and veggies in the mix too. Just scoop and serve!

Unfortunately this was one of the only ones my dog wasn’t a fan of. I don’t think he was a fan of the texture. This one, I find, is a lot more mushy then the rest. So if you’re dog is like mine and doesn’t prefer a mushy texture, I would suggest feeding when still partly frozen (more firm). So unfortunate as it’s so full of omegas!

Love this complete meal. Fish dinner is always part of our weekly rotation. Full of omegas this fish dinner has made my dogs coats super shiny and soft. Highly recommend.

I absolutely LOVE this product. I began mixing 1lbs of the Fish Dinner with another pound of a different protein for each of my dog’s meals – not only does he gobble it up right away, but his coat has become so much softer and shiny over the past few weeks. He is double coated & doesn’t get greasy or smelly at all since making this a staple in his diet. Highly recommend!

J’utilise les repas de poisson pour compléter leur formule qui n’en contiennent pas.mes deux chiens en raffolent!

I don’t often buy the 4lb Fish Dinner carton, since I usually stick to the 24lb Grab & Go options, but when I do, Teddy LOVES it! As a pet parent, I love that this formula is complete and doesn’t need any additional supplementation. It may be stinky, but it’s worth it to rotate in every once in a while!

Le Repas de poisson est un ajout stratégique dans la gamelle de mes chiens. Les Omega3 et bons gras sont bénéfique pour eux. Un de nos chats en raffole aussi!

When there is fish for dinner, my dog goes crazy. So convinient as I don’t even have to add fish oil or other supplement. I can sit back and just relax… for 30 secondes!

This is a great protein with anti-inflammatory properties as it is high in Omega-3s. I feed this to my senior dogs now in rotation. It has been a great help. It also needs no other supplementation. As dogs get older it is best to address joint or general inflammation with things live Bovine Colostrum (for auto immune issues) and Green Lipped Mussel, and Golden Paste for joints, the natural way. Add Fish Dinner to this regimen rounds it all out, and it’s a bonus that they absolutely love it.

My doggie loves it. 4 month old akita inu. I love incorporating a lighter, less fatty meal option in his weekly rotation.

Little upset, we ordered this fish dinner but it’s honestly so soupy, wet and like mush. Our dog struggled through her first meal but now won’t touch it. She loved the beef and lamb dinners we ordered in the past and we just wanted to try something different. Even the smell of it was very strong and unpleasant compared to their other meat dinners. Would not recommend.

HI Mathew, Yes, the fish dinner is very moist – more so than any of our other dinner formulations. Rather than making Fish Dinner the entire meal, many people offer it as 25% of the meal and use the package up over the course of a few days. Hope that helps.

This meal is more mushy than the others but my dog happily eats it as-is for his meals, same as any of the other dinners. Feeding our boy fish oil always causes stomach upset but not this! So we’re happy to serve it as the meal two days a week to get him enough omegas. I also don’t find it very smelly or oily.
