Big Country Raw places No. 318 on The Globe and Mail’s sixth annual ranking of Canada’s Top Growing Companies
Smithville, ON – Big Country Raw is pleased to announce it has ranked No. 318 on the 2024 Report on Business magazine’s ranking of Canada’s Top Growing Companies.
Canada’s Top Growing Companies ranks Canadian companies on three-year revenue growth. Big Country Raw earned its spot with three-year growth of 105%.
Big Country Raw is receiving this distinction for the fourth time – also having received recognition in 2020, 2022 and 2023 (the company missed the application process in 2021 as Co-Founders Rob and Geraldine welcomed a son the same year).
“This is a great opportunity to thank pet parents and our retail partners across Canada for sharing the belief that our pets will thrive with a raw pet food diet. Since starting Big Country Raw in 2012 from our home we have seen retailers support our vision and make an investment in freezers to bring raw food to more pet parents,” says Geraldine Brouwer, Co-Founder.
“There is still a lot of opportunity for growth in this category, and with the continual launch of innovation both in and out of the raw space, we are positioning ourselves for continued growth and sustainability. We are investing in our growth which includes a new 30,000 square foot cold storage building in Smithville and investment in 2 acres of land that will host a 20,000 square foot distribution center in Calgary.” Says Rob Brouwer, Co-Founder.
Canada’s Top Growing Companies is an editorial ranking that was launched in 2019 to celebrate the achievements of innovative businesses in Canada. To qualify for this voluntary program, companies had to complete an in-depth application process and fulfill revenue requirements. In total, 417 companies earned a spot on this year’s ranking.
The full list of 2024 winners along with editorial coverage is published in the October issue of Report on Business magazine. The list is out now and online here.
“Our annual ranking of Canada’s Top Growing Companies reflects the sector-spanning ingenuity of this country’s entrepreneurs and corporate leaders,” says Dawn Calleja, Editor of Report on Business magazine. “And we think it’s important to tell their stories, to help inspire the next generation of up-and-comers across the country.”
“The Globe and Mail congratulates this year’s Canada’s Top Growing Companies’ winners for achieving exceptional growth and resilience in facing business challenges,” says Andrew Saunders, CEO of The Globe and Mail. “It is a testament to dedication, strategic vision, and innovative drive.”
