Big Country Raw Launches “Stay A Little Longer” Campaign and Enhanced Meal Planning Tool
(SMITHVILLE, ONTARIO) Big Country Raw, Canada’s leading raw pet food brand, has launched its new brand campaign, “Stay A Little Longer,” alongside the introduction of an enhanced meal planning tool designed to support pet parents at every stage of their raw feeding journey.
Rolling out across YouTube and Meta, “Stay A Little Longer” reinforces Big Country Raw’s belief that informed pet parents make better feeding decisions. The campaign underscores the brand’s commitment to education, transparency, and providing practical tools that help pet parents confidently choose what’s best for their pets.
Inspired by the work of Rodney Habib and Dr. Karen Becker in The Forever Dog, and the growing understanding that nutrition plays a critical role in long-term pet wellness, the emotional spot celebrates the lifelong bond between dogs and their families. The campaign reflects the idea that feeding better today can help pets live healthier, fuller lives tomorrow.
Big Country Pet Co.’s creative team, Kaprise Chard and Liam Corkal, led by Creative Director Jason Hunnersen partnered with local agency Spaceless to bring the campaign to life.
“At its root, 'Stay A Little Longer' is a celebration of the relationship a dog shares with their person and how that relationship is reciprocal,” says Hunnersen. “The power is really in the word stay. We teach our dogs to stay, to sit, to wait for food, and to keep them safe. But what we truly want is for them to stay with us for as long as possible and to enjoy more good years along the way. The reality is, even forever wouldn’t be long enough.”
The commercial was filmed in St. Ann’s, Ontario, the birthplace of Big Country Raw. Originally founded as Big Country Kennels, Rob and Geraldine Brouwer began making raw food for their own kennel. Through word of mouth, demand quickly grew beyond their original setup which laid the foundation for what would become one of Canada’s most trusted raw pet food brands.
Adding authenticity to the campaign, the spot features three of the Brouwer family’s six children, along with Big Country Kennel puppies Guiness and Rue (two puppies were required in true acting fashion for young actors), Ember (also a Big Country Kennel dog), and the Brouwer family dog, Lewis.
In parallel with the campaign launch, Big Country Raw has refreshed its popular complimentary meal planning service, a long-standing educational tool on the brand’s website. Since its launch in 2021, more than 10,000 Canadian pet parents have submitted a meal plan annually.
The updated tool is more intuitive and flexible, allowing pet parents to tailor feeding plans based on their preferences, whether feeding raw full-time or incorporating it as part of a mixed diet.
