Smithville, Ontario – Big Country Raw is proud to announce they have self-published their 2021 AAFCO Feeding Trial results – the first of its kind from a Canadian raw pet food manufacturer. The conclusion provides evidence for the nutritional adequacy of a Big Country Raw diet.
“We are so excited to finally release the feeding trial results that have been two years in the making. Collecting and analyzing the information, writing the report and having it independently peer reviewed by veterinarians, a veterinary technician, and an agronomist, has made the official release so rewarding – and worth the wait,” says Julie Lauzon, Agrologist, M. Sc.
Julie Lauzon, Agr, M. Sc., is the full-time pet nutrition expert and Agrologist on the Big Country Raw team. In addition to leading and summarizing the feeding trial, Julie is responsible for the formulation of all Big Country Raw recipes and ensuring that they meet nutritional requirements – which includes laboratory analysis on ingredients, for all macro and micronutrients, as well as amino and fatty acids.
“Our extended AAFCO feeding trial hopefully continues to show our customers, retailers and the veterinary community, our commitment to ensuring nutritional adequacy of Big Country Raw diets. Other than individual testimonials on how feeding a raw diet improves the overall health of pets, there is very little science available to validate feeding a fresh food diet over that of a processed one,” states Big Country Raw co-founder, Geraldine Brouwer.
