Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric. Curcumin content of pure turmeric powder is very low – approximately 3% by weight. So, turmeric powder by itself is not a reliable source of curcumin for your pet.

There are many incredible benefits to adding Turmeric to your pet’s diet including:

  • Natural Detox
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Natural antibacterial
  • Promotes heart and liver health
  • Reduces blood clots that can lead to strokes and heart attacks by thinning the blood
  • Promotes digestive health
  • Acts as an antioxidant AND it’s believed to be able to prevent cancer
  • Offers allergy relief
  • Helps to prevent cataracts
  • Has been used in the treatment of epilepsy
  • Natural pain relief
  • Natural treatment for diarrhea
  • This is a really amazing supplement that more pet owners should consider offering to their pets.

100% Curcumin Powder.

Product of India.

Sourced from raw turmeric root containing at least 95% active curcuminoids including: demethoxycurcumin and bisdemethoxycurcumin..

Suggested Dosage: 1/8 tsp (1200 mg) per 25 lbs. body weight.

“To ensure a steady supply of curcumin in the bloodstream, divide the dosage and space evenly three times throughout the day. While the exact dosing has not been determined in dogs, studies have used curcumin in doses ranging from 500 to 3600 mg per day.” – Veterinarian Immunologist, Dr. Jean Dodds & Diana Laverdure.

Serving Suggestions:

To better the absorption when using a high-quality curcumin or organic turmeric root source, give in conjunction with a fatty food such as coconut, olive or fish oil (coconut oil: 1/2 tsp per 10 pounds of body weight).

According to Australian Vet, Dr. Doug English, by adding freshly ground peppercorns (piperine) to your mixture of turmeric root and selection of fat, piperine will increase intestinal absorption allowing time for the curcumin to be taken up into the blood stream. You don’t need more than a pinch!

Have you ever gone through all the trouble of making a golden paste only for your dog not to eat it? I have, so I was so happy when the Thrive Curcumin product came out because 1. I don’t have to go through the hassle of making a golden paste and 2. my dog will actually eat it and happily! Curcumin has so many fantastic benefits and I am so glad this product exists. My favourite way to serve this is to mix it with goats milk and freeze into cubes and just pop one onto my dogs meal once a day.

I love this stuff! It has helped with my little guy’s allergies so much. I really did not want to start him on anything unnatural/harmful and am so over the moon that it has been working perfectly !

This is in my top 4 favorite thrive supplements! We know the amazing benefits of turmeric so I was so excited to make golden paste for our Great Dane… well, he HATED it. Wouldn’t touch his food. I was so excited when BCR started carrying this. Curcumin has so so so many fantastic benefits. Our favorite way to serve this is to mix it with goats milk and freeze into cubes and give him one a day with his meals. y.

Started using Curcumin to help ward against inflammation caused from luxating patella. We humans take it daily but I actually think this version is more pure than what we are feeding ourselves. Other Turmeric powder is available in pet stores but they don’t give the Curcumin content so I have avoided it until finding the Thrive version. So far we have mixed it into our dogs daily meal and she hasn’t complained one bit. I like the previous mentions of making goats-milk pops and something we might try in summer as an added bonus to keep cool.

Love that BCR has this product and I don’t have to make golden paste. It’s so easy to add to meals and it has so many benefits. Be forewarned that it will stain anything and everything…so it handle with care.
