Can I thaw and re-freeze Big Country Raw?

Yes you can!  We do recommend however that you purchase our products in a portion size that is best used within 3 days. However, if you have a small breed that eats less than 1/4 lb per day, it may be necessary to thaw and repackage your food into individual servings.  Here are our recommended steps for safe thawing and refreezing of raw pet food.

  1. Always thaw in refrigerator.
  2. Once thawed repackage thawed food into individual servings.
  3. Freeze individual portions immediately.
  4. Once re-thawed, serve the same day.

You can add your supplements to your raw food when you are re-packaging for even more convenience.  Check out our Big Country Raw Feeders Group on Facebook for ideas and inspiration.
